Private Estates

Greycoat Placements Private Estates sector specialises in the recruitment of staff for households outside of London as well as Gardeners for estates within the London area. We have a wide range of staff available to suit both large estates with multiple staff as well as smaller family households. In the case of an emergency or to cover seasonal demands, we can place staff on a short-term basis throughout the UK. We also place staff in Estates Internationally.

As well as Gardening staff of different levels and Couples, we are also able to place Housekeepers, Butlers, Cook/Chefs and other domestic staff on a full-time, part-time, live-in or daily basis. Our highly experienced Consultants listen carefully to determine the needs of the Client and offer advice and assistance.

Gardeners

Gardens sourcing all forms of Estate Staff including; Estate Managers, Head Gardeners, Sole Gardeners, Assistant and Under Gardeners, Estate Workers, Gamekeepers, Handymen/Drivers, Maintenance together with Couples, live-in or live-out. Whilst many Estates provide accommodation packages for their staff, we have an increasing number of candidates seeking Daily work in their local areas and are able to assist with these requirements also.

We register qualified and experienced staff that have worked in private gardens, estates and/or have a horticultural qualification. We are also very happy to select staff with specific skills i.e. organic gardening, arboriculture, botanic collection, historic garden restoration, arboriculture, design and landscaping. We offer a discreet and personal service which includes working closely with yourself and making a client visit if appropriate. We have close links with Kew, Wisley, Chelsea Physic Garden and Professional Gardeners Guild.

Couples

The couples desk has always been successful at Greycoat Placements and we pride ourselves on being selective and thought on behalf of our clients. We have a range of couples registered with us who can cover a wide range of skills between them. The majority of couples will be multi-skilled and will cover such jobs such as Maintenance Gardening, household DIY, driving and cleaning, cooking and childcare. Some couples are specialists and will provide a much more focused service such as full-time cooking and horticultural gardening.

As well as registering experienced candidates with solid private household experience, we have found that many clients can benefit from the skills of a less experienced couple depending on the needs of their estate. We have had successful placements couples who have gone into their first full couples job from an Au-pair position or couples coming over from New Zealand for the “Overseas Experience”.

Greycoat Placements in New Zealand

For clients who are looking for couples with a building or agricultural background, we have had successful placements with couples relocating to the UK. We have an experienced consultant based in New Zealand who selects, interviews and reference checks candidates prior to their arrival in the UK. This way we can arrange interviews for candidates before they even arrive so our clients can meet them without delay. Many of the couples have limited experienced in households but bring with them skills in property and estate management, gardening, landscaping, building and agriculture as well as housekeeping.
